PREVENTION

Fire Prevention and Safety: Protecting Our Community

At Benton Fire District #4, fire prevention is at the core of our mission to safeguard lives and property. By raising awareness about fire prevention and safety, we aim to reduce the number of preventable fires and ensure that residents know how to respond in the event of an emergency.

Smoke Detectors Save Lives

Smoke detectors are one of the simplest and most effective tools for fire safety. To ensure our community is equipped with this essential life-saving technology, Benton Fire District #4 provides free smoke detectors and smoke detector batteries to residents within our district. This service is part of our commitment to making fire safety accessible to everyone.

If you need a smoke detector or replacement batteries, please contact our administrative office during regular business hours at 318-965-9454.

They are all smiling and appear to be at a fire station or similar facility with brick walls and an area with concrete pavement.

Teaching Fire Safety to Future Generations

Educating children about the dangers of fire is one of our top priorities. By teaching kids that fire is not a toy and helping them understand its risks, we hope to instill lifelong fire safety habits. Through school visits, community events, and educational programs, we strive to make fire prevention a shared responsibility for all generations.

Remember:
Change Your Smoke Detector Batteries

Smoke detectors only work if they have functioning batteries! Make it a habit to test your smoke detectors regularly and replace the batteries at least once a year. A few seconds of maintenance can make a life-saving difference.

Together, we can build a safer, more prepared community. For more information about fire prevention, educational programs, or smoke detector assistance, reach out to Benton Fire District #4 at 318-965-9454. Let’s work together to prevent fires and protect our neighbors.
